Restore
Your ability to return to a previous version of yourself — recovering lessons, habits, or strengths you once had.
Lucy Hale and Getting Sober at 32
Restore is about recovering a version of yourself you once had access to. Lucy Hale describes sobriety not as becoming a new person but as finally being allowed to be the woman she always was. The drinking had buried that person. Getting sober was a restoration — going back to the version of herself that existed before the armor, before the numbing. She says explicitly, 'I think I've always been that woman. I think allowing myself to be her.'
