Time Zone is about awareness of where others are in their journey and meeting them where they are. Dave Blanchard was operating fully in his own generational time zone — assuming the internet behaviors he recognized were the only valid ones. He couldn't place the kids' comments in their developmental moment at all. Hannah Chin, by contrast, had been a kid using weird corners of the internet herself, and immediately located the commenters in their time: new to chatting online, excited just to connect.
