Sync is about whether your inner world matches your outer world — whether what you feel, say, and do line up. The Valentine's Day caller's head and heart were completely out of sync: she knew the relationship wasn't right, but kept reaching back toward it. She was acting in ways that contradicted what she actually believed. Getting in sync meant letting her actions catch up to what she already understood to be true.
