Storage
How much you hold onto — thoughts, emotions, relationships, experiences. Can be overloaded or carefully curated.
Amy Pearl and the Tick That Took Her Meat
Storage is about what you hold onto. Amy Pearl held onto her identity as a meat lover for a long time — the Peter Luger credit card, the porterhouse memories, the vision of herself as someone who did barbecue all day. After the allergy, she had to decide what to keep and what to release. By the end of the story, she'd cleared that storage: she said she'd moved on from meat and felt happy about it. She wasn't holding the grief of it anymore.
