Carrie League and Giving Up the PhD
Location Services is about knowing where you actually are. Carrie League had been operating on a map that said: Rice University, then PhD, then career in science. When she looked around at the other PhD candidates and saw people who had no interest in anything outside their field, she got an honest fix on her actual position — she was on the wrong track for who she was. That self-location was what let her change direction.
