Sync is about whether your inner world matches your outer world — whether what you believe lines up with what you're actually doing. Danny Walsh built Peak State Coffee around a set of values: organic sourcing, environmental giving, B Corp status. His fear was that bringing in outside investors would pull his outer actions out of alignment with those inner commitments. The whole conversation was him trying to figure out how to keep Sync turned on as the business scales.
