Hotspot is about becoming the connection for others — sharing your energy and stability so they can get oriented. Omar Qureshi set out to be a Hotspot for his cousin Hamza and for every Pakistani who came to America after him. He wanted to be Shakir Khan — the person who shows up, provides warmth, and makes someone feel connected to a new place. The whole trip was an extended attempt to broadcast that signal, even when the connection kept dropping.
