Background Processes

The fears, survival patterns, and old logic that keep running in your mind whether you notice them or not. Some were installed by you, some by your environment, some by people who raised you. This setting is not about stopping them — it is about whether you even know they are there.

Paris Jackson and Learning to Hear Her Younger Selves

High fit

Background Processes are the old patterns running underneath awareness — the survival logic installed early that keeps operating whether or not it's still useful. Paris Jackson's pattern of reaching outside herself for relief was installed at age eight or younger. It ran continuously through her addiction, her relationships, her treatment history. Even in sobriety, it kept running: she described automatically looking for someone or something external to ease the discomfort. The shift she made — meeting her own needs herself — required first recognizing that the background process was running at all.
