Anti-Alias is about resisting the urge to flatten things into simple binaries. The easy read on Nigel was: sad, lonely, confused, failed. Chris Bell refused that flattening. He held the complexity — Nigel was unusual, yes, but that unusualness wasn't a defect; it was a feature. Chris allowed both the sadness and the ecological value to coexist without forcing one to cancel the other.
