Date & Time is about living in the present rather than ahead of or behind it. Ellis Miller had been living in anticipation of a permanent fix — and then in grief when it didn't hold. The shift was learning to live fully inside the present window of sound when it came, instead of using those moments as a preview of what they wished they always had. Ellis stopped measuring time in terms of loss and started measuring it in terms of now.
