Force Quit
When a specific thought, worry, or emotion keeps looping, you intentionally stop feeding it.
Eamon Ogana and the Spy Next Door
Force Quit is what you do when a thought keeps looping and you intentionally stop feeding it. Eamon Ogana developed a specific rule for exactly this: when he was up at 2am typing revelations, he would write them down but not send them — and then check them in the morning. That is Force Quit in practice. He didn't try to argue himself out of the thought; he just stopped feeding it until daylight, at which point most of it looked like nonsense. This became the core tool that kept his episodes from accelerating.
