Arlo Iron Cloud looked at the question of what to save and updated the entire premise: it's not about saving objects, it's about maintaining living traditions that can adapt. He applied this same logic to written law — pointing out that fixed texts like the Bill of Rights can't update themselves the way an oral tradition can.
