Restart became Jensen Huang's survival tool when the NV1 chip failed completely. Rather than continuing with flawed architecture that would have burned another two years, Jensen made the intentional decision to stop, reflect, and begin again with the right approach. He flew to Japan to cancel their Sega contract, took the remaining money as investment, laid off two-thirds of the company, and started building the NV3 from scratch with proper algorithms.
