Parental Controls

Whether you give yourself the option to choose who you are, instead of just defaulting to how you were raised.

Caroline Connolly and the Broadway Road Trip

High fit

Parental Controls captures Caroline Connolly's moment of testing whether she could choose her own beliefs instead of defaulting to how she was raised. When she declared she didn't believe in God during the family road trip, she was essentially trying to turn off the parental controls that had been governing her religious identity. However, when her mother threatened to tell Sister Ruth, Caroline quickly realized she wasn't ready to fully disable those controls yet and switched them back on by apologizing profusely.
