Anti-Alias
Whether you flatten the world into binaries, or allow for nuance, complexity, and blurry edges.
Michaela Nogueira and the Marriage to Cody
Anti-Alias is about refusing to flatten things into a simple story. Michaela Nogueira could have explained the marriage's end as 'he was an addict and it was too hard.' That version is true but incomplete. She chose instead to hold complexity — both of them fell short, both of them were too young, both of them were navigating impossible circumstances simultaneously. She kept the nuance instead of collapsing into the easier version.
