Force Quit
When a specific thought, worry, or emotion keeps looping, you intentionally stop feeding it.
Sayre Quevedo and the Barbershop Across the Street
Force Quit is about stopping a loop that keeps running. Sayre Quevedo had been trying to Force Quit his feelings about his father since age 20 — deciding not to think about it, not to pursue it, not to feel hurt. But the process wouldn't actually quit: it showed up in his therapy intake, in his teenage poetry, in his late-night drunk recordings muttering 'nothing matters.' The story tracks his gradual recognition that you can't Force Quit a feeling by deciding not to have it. The real shift is when he stops trying to kill the loop and instead walks toward it — books the appointment, writes the note, shows up.
