Background Processes

The fears, survival patterns, and old logic that keep running in your mind whether you notice them or not. Some were installed by you, some by your environment, some by people who raised you. This setting is not about stopping them — it is about whether you even know they are there.

Sayre Quevedo and the Barbershop Across the Street

High fit

Background Processes are the old patterns running in the background whether you notice them or not. Sayre Quevedo had been running a very specific process since he was 20: don't think about your father, it's not cool to care, choose to feel nothing. He didn't consciously notice how much energy this was consuming — leaving therapy early to see if anyone noticed, drinking alone at bars watching the door, driving past the barbershop without meaning to. These were all the background process doing its work. The shift came when he started to name what was actually running: hurt, longing, and a need to be acknowledged.
