Anti-Alias
Whether you flatten the world into binaries, or allow for nuance, complexity, and blurry edges.
Neil Ashdown and the Pigeon in Houston
Anti-Alias is about resisting binary, flattened thinking and allowing for complexity. Neil Ashdown could have taken the easy route: stayed with his father until the end, or gone to Houston and felt like a bad son. Instead, he held both things at once — his love for his father and his obligation to his colleagues, his grief and his humor, the desire for a meaningful symbol and the refusal to accept a cheap one. He didn't collapse the story into a clean moral. He let it stay complicated.
