Anti-Alias

Whether you flatten the world into binaries, or allow for nuance, complexity, and blurry edges.

Alan Newman and Jeffrey Hollander Coming to Terms with Their Split

High fit

Anti-Alias is about allowing for complexity instead of forcing things into black and white. Alan Newman had been carrying a clean, simple story: Jeffrey betrayed him. Jeffrey had been carrying his own version: Alan abandoned him. Both were true in parts. The shift for Alan — hearing Bobbi Brown describe liking to be the boss — introduced nuance into a story that had been binary for decades. He stopped seeing it as betrayal and started seeing it as structural incompatibility. That's Anti-Alias in action.
